BOSTON , MA – Accelerate Wentworth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center’s very own, OCC Youth Unleashed, is now a part of a global early-stage startup cohort with high impact and high potential through MassChallenge Boston. This year MassChallenge saw over 2,100 applications globally and selected only 255 startups. Like roses growing from concrete, five young men from Roxbury bloomed into successful entrepreneurs to help their community. This standout group of high school to college level students are placing community resources into the hands of urban youth across Boston. With the creation of their app, Unleashed, they are breaking barriers to community resources for the youth and strengthening community centers.
Beyond their mobile-friendly application, OCC Youth Unleashed hosts and supports a series of youth engagement opportunities city-wide. Recently, OCC attended MassTLC Technovation to support aspiring entrepreneurs among young women ages 10 to 18. They represented themselves at the Inclusive Innovation Leadership Conference. In the near future, the community can meet the startup in person at Mass Innovation Nights 99 on June 14th. They are hosting a hard launch of their app on June 23rd at the Ohrenberger Community Center.
With tremendous local support and courageous hearts, there’s no stopping the positive social impact this team has unleashed.
