Pete Nelson – Admissions Counselor
Congratulations to all the 2020 graduates! We know it’s been a tough year, but now it’s time to start your next exciting adventure. Orientation plays a critical role in preparing new students for their careers at Wentworth. Our New Student Virtual Orientation for the incoming class of 2024 has now started. This online program will introduce new students and their families to the information and resources needed to be successful at Wentworth. We want to ensure the virtual orientation experience offers the same quality as the traditional on campus orientation. All live virtual programs will take place between June 15-26. With the exception of Orientation Groups and Identity Based Discussion Groups, all programs are open to family members.
Information about academic support, living on campus and housing selection, clubs and organizations, financial aid and billing, and important summer due dates will be covered during New Student Orientation. Students will be able to meet with faculty members from their academic departments. Several departments will host Question and Answer sessions throughout the second half of June. These Q&A sessions are open to both students and their family members. Please visit wit.edu/new-students to access online orientation modules and view the full schedule of virtual programs.
Each student has an assigned Orientation Leader. They will lead group conversations and organize virtual games, creating a social and welcoming atmosphere. This allows students to interact and get to know their fellow classmates.
The Center for Diversity and Social Justice will host virtual meet-ups to begin the process of building a community among members of the incoming class. The meet-ups will provide the opportunity for students to engage in conversations about life at Wentworth.
The required Orientation modules are due by June 30th. Let the Orientation Office know if you are experiencing any issues. Before classes begin in the fall semester, there are a few summer requirements that need to be completed. If you have any questions throughout the summer, please contact the Orientation Office at email@example.com or 617-989-4080. We are excited to meet everyone at Orientation and we can’t wait to see you on campus this Fall!
