Meet Admissions: Josselyn and Andrew (New Admissions Counselors)

Andrew graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2015, where he studied History and Education.  He was drawn to College Admissions because of the common goal it shares with teaching:  helping students.  Andrew travels to the states of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, as well as to Bristol County, MA. Andrew reviews applications for those areas, as well as Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Utah.  Andrew is a life-long musician and lover of the arts. He loves to fill his spare time with anything music-related, in his free time, he also volunteers with his hometown high school marching band!  He also enjoys hiking, soccer, and spending time with family and friends. While this is technically Andrew’s second travel season, he is excited to hit the road again and meet new students to discuss with them all the amazing things happening at Wentworth!

Josselyn is a graduate of New England College with a degree in Educational Studies. Education has been a forever passion and that’s why she loves being an admissions counselor! Josselyn will be traveling and reviewing applications for students residing in Essex and Plymouth County, MA, New York(Albany, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster, Greene, Orange, Westchester, Central, Western, and northern counties), and Florida. She will also review applications for students living in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin islands. Josselyn was born in New Jersey but has lived in different states in New England. Raised in the greater Boston area, she enjoys living in the North Shore because she enjoys the ocean. In her spare time, she loves taking walks by the beach with her dog Simba, reading books, and shopping for shoes. Josselyn is very excited to be joining the admissions team at Wentworth and meeting prospective students during travel season.

Application Review

Sorry we haven’t written in a while—we’ve been busy reviewing your applications for Spring and Fall 2017!

We know that you are all anxious to receive your admission decisions, and we are working hard to get those to all of you as soon as possible. If you aren’t sure if your application is complete, reach out to your admissions counselor to check your application status. If you don’t know who your admissions counselor is, follow this link to see who reviews applications for your region. If you haven’t heard from us recently, make sure you are checking the email that you applied to Wentworth with. The majority of our communication with you is through email.

If you haven’t yet applied to Wentworth, there is still plenty of time!

Wentworth operates on rolling admissions, which means we review applications in the order in which they are received until our majors reach capacity. Wentworth has a priority deadline of February 15th. After this day, we do not guarantee space availability in any of our majors. Completing an application before February 15th ensures you a space in your major if you are accepted to Wentworth. From the time an application becomes complete, we try to send out decision letters within a 3-5 week time frame. If you are applying for spring 2017 transfer, we require a completed application by December 1st. Only select majors are available for transfer in the spring semester. Space is limited in these majors so completing an application as soon as possible is recommended. Read more about the transfer admissions process here.

As a reminder, Wentworth’s application requires:

  1. Application with essay
  2. High school transcript
  3. Standardized test scores (SAT or ACT). W super score the SAT!
  4. At least 1 letter of recommendation from an academic source or guidance counselor

Lastly, we have exciting news! Students applying for admission to the Fall 2017 semester will have the opportunity to apply to a brand new major, Biological Engineering! Read more about Biological Engineering here.

We realize this is a stressful time for high school seniors. The admissions office at Wentworth is here to help, so reach out to us with any questions or concerns at 617-989-4000 or
