October Exhibits & Displays at Schumann Library

Fall 2024 is well underway, and there’s a lot to do on campus and in your community! Here’s what our Exhibits & Displays Team has put together for the month of October: 

  • Prototypes from the Industrial Design program's Design Through Making course sequence.

Industrial Design: Design Through Making, Guarracino Family Gallery 

This exhibit features a collection of prototypes created during the Design Through Making course sequence. In this sequence, Industrial Design majors study 3D realization and rapid prototyping, creating one-of-a-kind models and prototypes that can be used to develop future products.

Hispanic Heritage Month, DEI Display 

Atop the Reference bookshelf and next to the Reference Help Desk is our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Display space, from September 15th through October 15th this is where you will find our National Hispanic American Heritage Month books and display materials!  

Take a look at our Hispanic Heritage Month Subject Guide for sorted resources including links to local & national programming, like at the Boston Public Library and the National Archives.

Indigenous Peoples’ Month, DEI Display 

During the month of November our DEI Display Space (next to the Research Help Desk) celebrates National Native American Heritage month! This display highlights Indigenous creators, including authors and visual artists. To learn more, take a look at our National Native American Heritage Subject Guide!

Voting Rights & Elections, Gray Wall Gallery 

The general election is November 5! This display provides information on how to create a voting plan and how to stay informed about candidates and issues affecting you. Check out our Elections guide for non-partisan resources on checking your voter registration, identifying your polling location, learning about candidates and policies, and more!

The Story of WIT, Red Gallery 

In collaboration with the Office of Institutional Equity and Accelerate, “The Story of WIT” features artwork created by Wentworth students. Each sculpture is made of “found objects,” or everyday objects, that are repurposed in a new way to tell a story from the artist’s life.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Mezzanine Gallery 

In celebration of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Schumann Library is collaborating with Digital Technology Services to provide resources and books from the collection regarding personal online security. Throughout the month, we will explore different facets of cybersecurity, such as Social Engineering, Deepfakes, Remote Work, and Incident Response.
