Active Learning Redesign

A consult was requested before the Fall 2021 semester. Instructors of CONM 1000 had the goal to include more active learning, student engagement, and constructivist teaching strategies. Instructional Designers were able to collaborate with the faculty to re-design the first few weeks.

CONM 1000 had similar course goals as another 1000-level course, so Instructional Designers were able to draw upon that work for inspiration. In addition, our instructional designers helped generate in-class activities to foster active learning.

Low-tech tools such as post-it notes and poster paper to make active learning possible.
