The Wentworth Engineering Honors Society (WEHS) inducted 25 new members at a ceremony held in the CEIS Lobby on Thursday June 14th, 2023. The Induction Ceremony was the third WEHS induction and the first that was held in-person.
In order to be inducted into the prestigious honor society, juniors must rank in the top eighth of their class and seniors must rank in the top fifth among all engineering seniors. Inductees are also required to show evidence of exemplary character since membership is not only a recognition of scholastic achievement, but also a call to service. At the ceremony 14 Engineering Juniors and 11 Engineering Seniors celebrated their achievement along with invited family members, current WEHS members, Dean Ali Khabari, and Associate Dean Anuja Kamat of the School of Engineering.
WEHS was formed as part of the requirements of establishing a Wentworth Chapter of Tau Beta Pi (TBP or 𝜏Β𝜋), a national honor society for engineering students. Tau Beta Pi is recognized as the most prestigious engineering honor society in the Unites States and the only engineering society open to all engineering majors.
