Wilbur Cobb, PM&MD, checks in to note that he has been married for 62 years to his wife, Isabel, and that they have two children and four grandchildren. After earning his degree at Wentworth, Wilbur went to Northeastern University for his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration and personnel management, respectively. He worked several jobs throughout his career before retiring and traveling with Isabel. The couple continues to reside in the same house they first bought together.

Richard S. Crowell, AC, writes: “I am tremendously proud of my granddaughter, Helena Cauchon, BCET ’12. She is the fourth generation of my family graduating from Wentworth and is now happily employed by Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Bedford, NH. I am an AC ’53 graduate and my father, Morton F. Crowell, is an AC ’20 graduate. Also, our cousin and former Wentworth trustee Kenrick M. Baker [for whom Baker Hall is named] is an APM ’14 graduate. We all attribute our successful vocations to the hands-on education we received from the field-experienced faculty at Wentworth. On January 28, 2013, my wife Dottie and I, while celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary, enjoyed a memorable experience participating in the NASA alumni tour and reception at the Kennedy Space Center with President Pantic and several other alumni.”

1970
Walter “Buddy” McDermott, Jr., BCS, received the Joseph W. Maloney Award from the Association of Fleet Maintenance Supervisors in Milton, Mass. for 2012. The award is the highest honor the fleet offers. Buddy retired from his position as fleet maintenance supervisor with the town’s Department of Public Works in 2010.

Frank Hover, PET, was inducted into the Chatham (Mass.) High School Hall of Fame in September. He played varsity basketball and baseball and graduated high school in 1964. After serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for five years, he attended Wentworth, where he served as class president and the president of the National Honor Society.

Norman Goulet, AET, recently accepted a position at Payette, located in Boston, as senior project manager/lab architect. He has rejoined the company after 14 years.

Peter Oggeri, BCMT, was one of eight classmates from Newtown, Conn., to help plan the “Night for Newtown” event in Boston that benefits the EverWonder Children’s Museum. After the Newtown massacre, the group reconnected on Facebook and decided to do something for the town they love. In just weeks, the 24- and 25-year-olds managed to book the State Street Pavilion and the EMC Club at Fenway Park, in addition to securing beer by Samuel Adams and food by Aramark, the band Flipside, floral arrangements by Winston Flowers, and various items for a silent auction.
