Wentworth kicked off the Boston commencement season on April 22 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place with its 2017 Spring Commencement ceremony. Of the 316 students who graduated, 181 earned bachelor’s degrees, 127 earned graduate degrees, and eight earned associate degrees.

Wentworth Trustee Greg Janey, ARS ’82, BCM ’04, delivered the keynote address and received an Honorary Doctor of Engineering degree, while Seantel Trombly, BSA ’17, served as the featured student speaker at the event.

Joe Fallon, AET ’73, CE ’77, also received an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree. A titan of Boston real-estate development responsible for the revitalization of Boston’s Fan Pier, Fallon is credited with being Wentworth’s first co-op student, in 1975.

Honorary Bachelor of Science degrees were awarded to members of the Class of 1967 as part of their induction into the Black & Gold Society. Honorary bachelor’s degrees were also awarded to six members of the Downing family, who earned associate degrees from the Institute between 1914 and 1965.
