The Department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Management recently announced that Robert D. Bateman has joined the Management program as the inaugural Executive-in-Residence for the 2009–2010 academic year. Currently serving as managing partner for SecurePoint Group, Mr. Bateman also had a long career at IBM and brings vast experience in global technology management and advanced project management to the position.

The newly established Executive-in-Residence program represents an opportunity for Wentworth management students to learn from industry leaders. Mr. Bateman will interact with students by serving as a guest lecturer, by conducting intensive workshops on aspects of the management curriculum, and by being available for guidance, preparation, and perspective. The program will offer new learning experiences for faculty and students by providing a glimpse of current and perceived management thinking, trends, issues, and problems.

Wentworth hopes that by fostering a relationship with influential management leaders and the companies they work for, the program will have the added benefit of expanding the number of co-op opportunities available to students.
