During tryouts for Wentworth’s basketball team in 1957, Frederick M. Boddington Jr., MC&TD ’58, came down with a rebound while the three guys around him hit the floor. With that, Boddington—who had never played for a team before—beat out 50 other players for a spot on the squad. In his second year, the team purchased new uniforms, letting them hold on to the old ones as a keepsake. He donated his to Wentworth when he returned for his Black & Gold 50th reunion two years ago.
