Today we continue our series highlighting the excellent Wentworth Co-ops who are working on the library renovation project.
Haley Baker is majoring in Interior Design and is currently doing her co-op with STV | DPM, the owner’s project manager for the library renovation project.
Q: What have you learned from your involvement on the Schumann Library Renovation and/or from working as a Co-op at STV | DPM ?
A: I think the most valuable thing I have learned from being involved in the library project is the importance of communication within a team. There are so many people from different companies and groups involved in the process and any decision that is made effects every one of those groups.
Q: What are your favorite memories from your time in the library at Wentworth?
A: As a design student, most of my work gets done in studio. The library has always been a good place for me when I need to get away from the stress that studio brings on. It is a quiet, relaxing and conducive learning and working environment.
Q: What do you think is the most exciting part of the renovation project for Wentworth student?
I think that the student involvement on the project is the most exciting for Wentworth students. Wentworth is such a hands on school, which is in my opinion one of the best parts of going here. I think people are generally just excited to have a new library but for students, getting to be a part of the process is like a cherry on top.
Q: Do you/did you have a favorite spot to study in the library?
A: The purple raised cubicles on the main level of the library were always what I would gravitate towards. I think I liked them because they were secluded in a way but I could see everything that was going on around me, and that is the time of environment that I like.
Thank you, Haley! Here’s a picture of those purple raised cubicles for you.
