A number of Wentworth Co-op students are working for the organizations involved in the library renovation. Today, we feature Stephanie Crepeau, a Construction Management major who is on co-op with Consigli Construction Company.
Q: What have you learned from your involvement on the Schumann Library Renovation from working as a co-op at Consigli Construction Company?
A: In classes you really scratch the surface of whatever topic it is. I’ve learned so much more about construction scheduling, but have definitely felt the connection of what I learned in the classroom and how to apply it in a real world setting. This position has allowed me to really dig into a deeper understanding of not only how construction occurs on a site but also behind the scenes, before anyone ever sees construction on a site. I’ve also become more comfortable with the specific scheduling software (Primavera 6), learning new tricks and tips with it, that I feel I can walk away having sharpened a really useful skill in my toolset.
Q: What are your favorite memories from your time in the library at Wentworth?
A: Sitting for three+ hours straight until the library closed with my friend to work on a pre-lab for our 8 AM Materials Testing & Quality Control class.
Q: What do you think is the most exciting part of the renovation project for Wentworth students?
A: I think one of the exciting things about the library is the possibility of giving it a fresh, more modern 21st century feel. And more available power outlets!
Q: Do you/did you have a favorite spot to study in the library?
A: I always enjoy sitting on the mezzanine whether at a table studying with friends or just hanging out on the couches overlooking the library.
Thank you, Stephanie, keep up the good work!
