WIRE—Wentworth Internet Radio and Entertainment—was named “Best College Radio Streaming Station” in the “under 10,000 students” category at the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System’s 2017 convention in New York City. The victory follows WIRE’s “Best College Radio Station in Boston” recognition at the 2016 convention and “Best Internet College Radio Station in the Country” in its size category in 2014.

This year’s event also honored Paul Lazarovich, associate professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, with the Jeff Tellis Outstanding Advisor Award.

WIRE has recently begun to welcome alumni back to campus for interviews on the “Leopard Radio” program, which debuted in the spring. Guests discuss their lives and careers and share a few of their favorite songs. Stephen Fusi, ME ’74—who, along with Mindy Pollack Fusi, provided the funding for WIRE’s studio—was the show’s first guest.

“Wentworth alumni have really interesting stories to tell, and I felt like it was time for WIRE to start sharing those stories,” says WIRE station director David Krieder, BBM ’17.
