Communicating with Video: Student-Made Short Films on Display

For the month of January, the Guarracino Family Gallery at Schumann Library has been converted into a theatre, showcasing student-made short films.

Professor Lizzie Falvey’s Communicating with Video students spent Fall Semester writing, filming, and editing high-quality short films. Film topics are specific to students’ interests, ranging from local history, urban exploration, animal ethics, and more. Students interviewed a wide array of individuals for their projects, including Fenway Park employees, pilots, musicians, and even Wentworth faculty.

This exhibit was made possible thanks to a collaboration with the Department of Technology Services, who created ways to provide closed captions and audio capabilities for the exhibit. Visitors can listen to the exhibit with their own wired headphones, or take a pair of complementary earbuds available thanks to a donation from Port City Air.

Make sure to visit Schumann Library to learn something new and enjoy these incredible films! Photograph of the exhibit space; two red chairs are positioned in front of the digital display.
