Blackboard will be unavailable from 10 PM on December 21st to 10 AM on December 22nd while our production system is upgraded to the April 2016 release of Blackboard Learn 9.1. Please plan ahead for your course binder preparation, your flexibility is appreciated!
You will notice only a few changes after the upgrade:
- Announcements will now be “Not Date Restricted” by default.
- Discussion Boards will now have a thread to thread navigation button
- Instructors can import AAUC VALUE Rubrics into courses (we will post on Faculty Resources tab).
- We will enable a new mobile friendly theme so you can use the native Blackboard website on mobile devices and the pages will resize and reformat appropriately.
Most of the changes for this upgrade are in technologies used “under the hood.” For example, the content editor now supports rendering audio and video content using HTML 5 instead of using NPAPI plugins not supported by most modern browsers. Java 8 is now supported and new integration APIs will now be available.
