Aim for Accessibility
Make Fewer Mistakes
Install Grammarly on your browser and you will not regret it! It will make you more efficient when writing on web-based documents including email and Canvas. I use Grammarly to catch typos and mistakes when making a course.

Try Something New
Check out our TLC Services portfolio for some inspiration.
Have something else in mind, but not sure where to start? I recommend a small pilot. That way you can get used to the tech AND get feedback from the students.

Flip a Class
Aim to flip at least one class to foster more active learning and experimentation during class. The goal is to replace lecture-style platforms by incorporating technology and rich media to enable students to learn in ways they would not be able to on a strictly physical campus.
Improve Instructor Presence
For the online course component, consider adding your profile pic to instantly add your presence to Brightspace class space.
Make a robust “meet the instructor” page with a picture, a welcome video, and written bio.
There are many other ways, including virtual office hours, quality announcements, and video feedback.

Get Inspired!
There are several sources of inspiration outside of higher ed. Here are some of my favorite muses to spark creativity.
Squid Game on Netflix – Season one South Korean horror drama
American Predator by Maureen Callahan on audiobook – True crime book about the hunt for the most meticulous serial killer of the 21st century.
The Great on Hulu – Comedy-drama “anti-historical” loosely based on the rise to power of Catherine the Great, Empress of All Russia.
GastroPod on Podcasts – A podcast about food with a side of history and science

Learn a New Skill
LinkedIn Learning – learn from experts
Skillshare – classes on almost everything
