Content Migration Update

We are making progress migrating content from Blackboard to Brightspace and anticipate completing all the course migrations requested by the March 22nd deadline complete by the end of March. The exceptions are Spring 2021 courses. We will migrate these starting about April 19th to capture as much content as possible. We will be reaching out in the next two weeks to confirm when we can convert those courses.

If you requested a course migration for an “oversize” course we will complete migrating those courses by April 2nd. You will receive an email with more information about where we have moved your video content and how to link to it in your Brightspace course.

If you missed the deadline to have your courses bulk-migrated, you can still self-migrate by either rebuilding your course after downloading your content from Blackboard or by exporting a course package from Blackboard and importing it to Brightspace.

I’ve discussed the pros and cons of these approaches in an earlier blog post. Here are some resources to help you to use those options:

Finally, we are working on a solution to the problem of incompletes. LIT&O is working with Academic Affairs to finalize a process to migrate content to allow students to complete work during the allowed timeframe for spring incompletes. Our contract with Blackboard ends July 1 and we need to provide an option for those impacted students to complete work by the deadline in September.
