Teaching Strategies & Pedagogy:

  • All About Ally Part 2Ally, a tool active in Brightspace to help you improve the accessibility of your content, provides coaching on how to add alt text to images in your Brightspace course.  Ally uses the phrase image description to refer to alt text.
  • Class Progress for Course Analytics – Brightspace analytics provides insights into a course.
    The Class Progress tool helps instructors measure and guide student performance and engagement.
  • Make Time for Earth Month: Instructor Guide – April is Earth Month, but as we all know, caring about the environment is a year-round effort. As educators, we have the opportunity to invest in our planet through what we do for our students
  • COF Teaching & Learning Digital Care Package Enjoy a digital care package including resources such as book recommendations, blog posts, and links to COF EAP Program portals and upcoming wellness events. Also a big thank you to our Wentworth faculty panelists at the COF Teaching & Learning Conference Hari Naganathan and Cindy Stevens!
  • Men’s Mental Health course – A brief, free online course for all Wentworth community members who are interested in learning more about how college-aged men take on mental health challenges. This course was created by the Center for Wellness in collaboration with TLC.

Other Updates:

  • Attend the Guilt-Free Book Club – Please join your colleagues at the Guilt-Free Book Club’s 3rd meeting on Wednesday, April 6th at 12:30 – 1:30 PM. We’ll be discussing Teach Students How to Learn by Dr. Saundra McGuire. No need to read to attend, but reading will enrich your experience. Visit our website to access the chapter, register for the zoom meeting, and get the recording if you can’t attend.
  • CoLab Podcast Episode 1– Josh interviews Professor Ilyas Bhatti, Professor of Construction Management at Wentworth, who reflects upon his rich career and the connections that have defined it by sharing stories and lessons learned.
  • Save the Date: TLC Open House – Join the Teaching & Learning Collaborative for an Open House in our Beatty 318 suite on Wednesday April 20th. We want to hear how your spring courses went and discuss opportunities for collaboration. More details to come.
