Workflow for incompletes

If you have students who end the semester with an incomplete (grade in Banner of “IC”), we have a workflow in place that allows students uninterrupted access to the course, until a letter grade for the course is posted in Banner.

At the end of the semester, an automated workflow checks for students receiving a grade of IC for a course. The workflow updates the student’s role from “student” to “IC-student”. The IC-student role allows students to access courses after the course end date. Once a grade other than “IC” is posted in Banner, the student’s role reverts back to the standard “student” role, and access is restricted.

No need to change the course availability dates to allow students with incompletes to see a course. You may need to adjust dates on specific assignments to allow the “IC-student”s to submit, but this should be limited to a few assignments.
