Let’s Get to Work – The Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development

In this week’s WITWants2Know question, we asked students if they knew their Co-op and Career advisor.  It was great to see that a little over 86% of respondents said yes!  The staff in Co-op and Careers are committed to helping students gain the tools and skills they need to search for either an optional or mandatory coop.  They work with students one on one to provide them support and guidance to seek out positions all over the world.  In addition to one on one career advising, Co-ops and Careers offers a number of programs throughout the year, some of which are the most well attended events on campus.  These include the semi-annual Career Fair where over 180 employers come to campus to speak with students about job opportunities.  The office also organizes a Mock Interview Day each Fall which allows students to practice their interviewing skills.  Co-ops and Careers also organizes WITWear, a closet of professional clothes for students to take or borrow for networking events and interviews.

It is never to early to get to know your Co-op and Career advisor.  They are a great resource for working on your resume or understanding what career options exist within your major.  If you are not sure who your Co-op and Career adviser is, take a look below:
