Small Donation, Huge Impact!

Wentworth students do inspiring things each and every day but the road to success can be a bit more difficult for some students than it is for others.  Through several grants and many generous donations, the Student Emergency Fund was created in 2012 to provide small financial relief for students facing unforeseen and challenging situations. One of the most sensitive of these situations is food insecurity. Some of our students, after covering the cost of tuition, books, supplies, and transportation, are left with no additional funds.  But, fortunately, assistance is available and with your help, we can extend this support even further.

Students who currently have a meal plan can donate up to $10 of their unused money to the Student Emergency Fund.  Our goal is to have 500 students donate $10 to raise $5000 for this important cause.   I am confident we will not only achieve this goal but exceed it, because in addition to Wentworth students being caring and compassion, they are also fiercely competitive and have never met a goal they didn’t crush!

Students have until the end of the day on Friday, April 21, 2017 to donate and can do so at http://tinyurl.com/studentemergency.

Students who do not have a meal plan but still would like to contribute can make a donation at http://tinyurl.com/mdts8cv. Be sure to select Student Emergency Fund under Designation.

To understand the incredibly impact the Student Emergency Fund can have, I give you this beautiful quote from one student who has benefited from this fund, “I understand what it feels like to need help, to be afraid to ask, and the surprise when help found me. WIT and all of its fantastic people have helped me keep chasing my dreams.”

I thank you in advance for considering contributing to this important fund. I wish you the best of luck as you finish up classes or coop!

All my best,

Dean Wenner
