The new academic year has begun. A huge thank you to our team in Housing and Residential Life for coordinating move in for all of our resident students. Even with a little bit of rain on the last day, it was quite the celebration to welcome our new students onto campus and welcome back our returning students. Also, a huge shout out to our Student Engagement team and the entire WOW staff. We heard so many great things from students about their WOW experience…the carnival was a huge success!
This is an exciting time on campus….the construction of our new academic building, the Center for Engineering, Innovation, and Sciences, is right in the heart of our campus. Yes, there may be some noise and it may take us a little longer to get from point A to point B, but the temporary inconvenience is worth the long term gain.
Speaking of excited….in our last #WITwants2know question, we asked if students were excited to be at Wentworth and 92% of our respondents indicated they are excited to be here. We love this!! We hope that your experience on campus exceeds, or at least meets, your expectations. We want you to be challenged academically so your learning is endless. We want this to be an enjoyable experience…one in which you find your passion and your best friend(s).
For the 8% who are not as excited….that’s ok. There are many opportunities at Wentworth. Let us work with you…or goal is for you to love Wentworth as much as we do.
Wentworth is a special place, and we are grateful to be a part of a community that cares for each other and celebrates success. Recently, one of our students – now an alum – who graduated in August, sent us this brief note. We think it says perfectly why there is so much to be excited about at Wentworth:
“Through my four years at Wentworth I have many fond memories. My favorite memory (besides working at the office of student affairs with the deans) was just having an overall strong sense of community with my peers in the Construction Management major. I found that over the years all of us grew closer and closer, creating a tight bond between each other. We would often stay after class to help each other out with understanding certain aspects of the courses to ensure that no classmate was left behind. This strong bond between all of my peers and I is something that I feel is unique to Wentworth, and something that sets our campus apart.”
